It is with great excitement, and a touch of bitter-sweet happiness, that I can announce my books are once again available for sale (on Smashwords, and soon on other retailers as well!)
My writing career has been a bit of a long journey. Starting out as a writer for local newspapers and trade magazines, I began to explore my passion to be a novelist with a serious concentration in Romantic Suspense. I had a false start with a small company in 2001 where my book Courage of the Heart was first published; I grew discontent as I felt they were not living up to the things they had promised me. I started looking around for another publisher, I wasn’t confident enough to explore self-publishing options (yet!).
Somewhere in early 2008 another writer friend told me about a great small-publishing company she had just connected with and, with her blessings, I sent a manuscript in for a story called Bartlett’s Rule. Imagine my absolute delight when I received a wonderful acceptance letter from Kimberlee Williams, the owner and editor of Vanilla Heart Publishing. My G-d, what a wonderful journey it has been! Along the way Kimberlee also became one of my closest friends — which she remains as to this day.
Through the years Kimberlee published several more of my novels along with a few anthologies and shorts. I never once thought I would be published by anyone else, but unfortunately due to personal health reasons, Kimberlee recently let me know she was closing VHP down for good; the beautiful friend that she is, she encouraged me to self-publish my existing books and any future stories I wrote under the publisher name of By-Lines. So today I proudly announce that I have begun my self-publishing journey and express my deepest gratitude to Kimberlee for the experience and encouragement.
I hope that you will stay tuned because my stories are not done yet!

Author Spotlight – Chelle Cordero
If you were to write a series of novels, what would it be about?
I would probably write a series of novels about Emergency Services, especially medical. I spent nearly three decades myself as a volunteer NYS Certified Emergency Medical Technician responding via an ambulance to all forms of medical and traumatic emergencies; my husband has also been a volunteer EMT and both of our offspring are career EMS. I also spent several years as a volunteer with the NYC Auxiliary Police (where I finally got together with my husband) and I have a lot of folks I care about in fire services. Emergency responders (paid or volunteer) put their own lives on the line constantly and have my complete admiration, respect and gratitude – they help to ensure the welfare of our homes and communities. I’ve already written two EMS stories, Final Sin and Hyphema and I probably will write more.
