I was shocked rereading the first chapter of my first book when there I was, naked, revealed for all to see or read. Inexperienced me had no idea the writer always leaves personal bit and pieces of themselves in a book. My former daughter-in law reads my books and says it’s like having a conversation with me. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Chelle, I so completely agree with this post! I didn’t realize until I was in the middle of writing my first book, when my manager (who was alpha reading as I wrote) commented that she sees an awful lot of me in the main character. Yes. We all write what we know, like it or not. It’s how we get so deep inside our main characters’ heads, I think.
